HOW CAN I DETERMINE MY BACKUP SPACE REQUIREMENTS?

The best way to determine your backup space requirements is quite simply to select the files which you consider critical, and to see the space they take up on your hard disk. For example, you might consider selecting the “My Documents” folder, as well as the data dossiers of your programs, and any other data dossier. Then simply verify your space requirements and choose the right solution for you.

FOR HOW LONG IS MY DATA CONSERVED?

Your backed-up data is stored for as long as you are up-to-date with your account payment. You, the client, can delete your data from our online storage servers whenever you want. And we, in our capacity as service providers, can also delete your data if you have not paid the bill for the service.

IS MY BACKED-UP DATA PRIVATE?

Absolutely. When you are installing the backup client, you must enter an encryption key. YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON who knows this key. And without this key, your data cannot be retrieved, even by Magic Online.

WHAT IF I NEED TO BACK UP DATA FROM SEVERAL WORKSTATIONS?

In this case, you simply choose a storage pack for your complete IT asset base; you would get a separate license for each PC to back up.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PC AND/OR LAPTOP BECOMES UNUSABLE?

If your PC/laptop becomes unusable for whatever reason (malfunction, etc.), you simply repair/replace the device and then download and re-install the backup client application. You can then restore all the data (i.e., download it to the new/repaired device). You can also access your data from our Web interface, accessible from a browser.

WHAT IS THE TRANSFER SPEED OF MY FILES?

It depends on the Internet connection used. Please note that, in the case of a standard Internet connection, the download speed is greater than the upload speed.
